The Hava partnership welcomes feedback on how it is spending and investing the Big Local Lottery Funding. HAVA is a resident-led community organisation based in Hawksworth Wood, Abbeydales and surrounding area.
Calei Smith, the chairperson of the HAVA Board said ” so far we have funded various community activities and projects, including a mini-bus for HOPS, a community hub in the Village Hall and given out grants for local groups. We have organised a range of community events and are planning more. We are keen to hear from local residents in the area about their ideas on what is needed for the future.”
There has recently been a complaint made about HAVA. An independent review was consequently carried out by the Local Trust, the charity that distributes Big Local Funding Nationally, in response to local concerns. The review concluded that reasonable progress had been made to address these issues.
Local Ward Member and Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Yeadon said
“Big Local is an important local initiative to help improve the area. The HAVA Board is now working well to get things going and start new projects. We welcome feedback and are keen to get more residents involved ”
