Easter Egg Hunt – St Mary’s Church
Sunday 27th March
Sunday, 3:15pm at Village Hall there was a queue and a hail storm! Which in many ways sums up the Easter Egg Hunt. We had a great afternoon with lots of people involved. 55 children and young people managed to win themselves an Easter Egg by either hunting for small eggs in the garden or going on a brief treasure hunt.
We are estimating that around 80 people engaged in the afternoon (not bad on a big family day) and we had around twenty volunteers involved (including three board members). We were all kept more than busy with a constant stream of children and young people. We were engaging some folks from groups which have been identified as hard to reach.
Special thanks go to all our volunteers and to Mark for co-ordinating. Kizzy also gets a big thank for baking us up enough tasty treats to send everyone home feeling suitably well fed! Thanks also go to the people of St. James’ Woodside who loaned us their plastic eggs, the folks of St. Mark’s Harrogate for donating sixty small eggs and to Morrisons for the involvement of their community champion, for a big egg prize and thirty eggs to give away.
